By Jeffrey Babcock
Own a sports car and wanted to be able to stow a full size bike in the back. That seemed impossible until I discovered the Montague FIT. Priced nearly $400 under the manufacture's list...this bike is worth every dollar and more. Carbon fork, narrow lightweight wheels and tires, FSA crankset all combine to make this a very fast, fun, responsive bike that happens to fold up to a medium size package.
I ordered the bike thinking the carry case was included. A call to Amazon confirmed that.
However for the price I doubted the case would arrive with the bike.
When Montague learned I was having trouble getting a case, they sent me one at no cost. That's pretty amazing customer service.
Additionally, Ryan and Jonathan of Montague Bikes answered every question I had about the bike...before and after purchase.
I changed out the nice saddle and pedals...moving them to an older bike I'm selling. Installed a Specialized saddle that I've ridden for 10 years and like and new Ergo CP2 Grips...which allow me to stretch and change hand position.
Also added MKS quick release pedal...[...]. This pedal system can be used in conjunction with MKS SPD quick release system.
I've owned a lot of bikes and the only thing faster and better balanced than this bike is my 12 year old KLEIN Quantum Race. Good luck finding the long since discontinued KLEIN.
Montague sells 40,000 bikes a year...unlike large competitors who sell 400,000 to 4 million. My experience is that they very graciously treat every customer with sincere personal attention.
Thanks to Abe's of Maine who delivered the bike on time and tried to be of help with the carry bag.
Showed this bike to a bike dealer friend the other day. He was impressed with the engineering and the quality of the components and the frame.
